If you’re new to audax bike riding, it’s pretty simple: non-competitive long-distance cycling events that are great fun, and are only a few quid to enter! Snakes, Cats & Roaches 200km

Start time: 08:00

A 200km ride going through the Peak District, taking in Snake Pass, Cat and Fiddle, and out to the Roaches. Travel through 4 counties – Yorkshire, Cheshire, Staffordshire, and Derbyshire – in this tough, hilly ride.

The route is hilly throughout, with a westward start through Strines, and over the Snake Pass to Glossop. We weave through the High Peak towns of New Mills and Whaley Bridge towards Macclefield before tackling the 10km Cat and Fiddle climb. Turning off towards Flash, there’s a control at Flash Bar Stores, a great spot for lunch. Once we’ve taken in the majestic views from the Roaches, we travel East to the rural bohemia of Wirksworth, which has plenty of cafes, pubs, and a large Co-Op.  Turning north-west, we move deep into the heart of the Peak, passing through Youlgreave, skirting Bakewell, and into Ashford-in-the-Water before a free control at Tideswell. The final stretch goes through Eyam and Grindleford before the last significant climb up to the Fox House pub. From there it’s nearly all free wheeling back into Sheffield. We’ll have food and drink at the start and the end.

You Goytta Move 100km

Start time: 09:00

A hilly ride out across the Peak District to the Goyt Valley passing through Bradwell and Buxton. Returning to Sheffield via Tideswell, Eyam, and Grindleford.
